Cypress Golf Club’s 54 years on the Northern California golf scene came to an end during the club’s “Fina” banquet on Sunday, January 28, 2018.
After opening remarks by club president Dale Sasaki, eighteen club members that took part in their last annual dinner listened to Jim Ono relate highlights of the club’s 54-year history and Bob Kozen reflect on his 50 years as a club member.
The club recognized and thanked its five loyal major tournament sponsors: Dick Nakamura (Tournament of Champions), Koji Sugimoto (Kaita Restaurant Championship), Nobu Muta (Nobu Muta Tournament), Roberta Murai (JTM/Coldwell Banker Tournament), and John Kawamoto and the Petrinovich Pugh & Co. LLP group (Cypress Memorial Tournament).
The party ended with raffles and scratchers conducted by club vice president Tom Murai who visibly tried to control his emotions as he terminated the evening’s activities.
